participants to the welding trade and to achieve basic skills
through practice in Shielded Metal Arc Welding. We ensure sufficient
practical and theoretical exposure to SMAW.

To be able to produce quality multi-pass
fillet and groove welds in all positions using E6010,
E6011 and E7018

SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING (SMAW) – Advance Carbon Steel,
Stainless Steel (Pipe)
Upon
completion of this course, the trainee should have developed
expertise in manipulative skills and technical understanding related
to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)..

| Course Objective : |
To produce quality multi-pass fillet welds
and groove welds, all positions, on carbon steel or
stainless steel plate using stainless steel electrodes.
In addition, to produce fillet welds, all positions, and
2G, 5G and 6G groove welds on carbon steel pipe using
E6010 and E7018
electrodes. |

| Prerequisites : |
The student must have successfully passed
the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) entry level
course. |

GAS SHIELDED TUNGSTEN ARC WELDING (GTAW) Carbon Steel ,
Aluminum (Plate & Pipe)
Upon
completion of this course, the student should e able to perform
production and maintenance welding on mild steel including high
volume fabrication, automotive assembly and repair..

| Course Objective : |
To produce quality multi-pass fillet welds
and groove welds on carbon steel plate in all positions,
using short circuiting transfer. This course is planned
to meet the exacting demands of pulsed TIG welding and
conventional welding through a methodical and ordered
approach. Quality is determined through visual
inspection and mechanical testing according to AWS
requirements. |

Ideal for candidates conversant with Arc
Welding. |

| Course content: |
Familiarization with GMAW process, equipment
and accessories, safety precautions, welding variables,
selection of tungsten electrodes and shielding gases,
welding techniques, handling of equipments, advantages
of pulsed TIG
welding. |

GAS SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING (GMAW) Carbon Steel,
Aluminum (Plate & Pipe)
Upon
completion of this course, the trainee should be able to perform
structural welding, production welding on light, medium and heavy
assemblies, as well as to perform service and transmission pipeline
related work.

consumables, process related defects and remedies,
applications and
